1995 dodge cummins 4X4 shutting off!

I bought a 1995 dodge cummins 4X4 and when it reaches temp. it shuts off. Sometimes it will start back up and sometimes it takes a while for it to start again. Someone said it may need an Lp and a Ip but it seems like something eletrical. Has anyone had this problem before? Not sure what kind of sensors is on this thing. I tried to get it to code but it would not code anything.

try wiring up the shutoff solenoid. its bolted to the side of the afc housing. if the solenoids going bad it could be dropping out.

besides the solenoid, you could have a clogged tank vent or air getting in the lines.
Install a pressure gauge to give you more info next time it happens

Does it dye at a certain speed?I had the same problem of a shutdown on my 95 truck when driving on the highway. At 70 mph the truck would all of sudden shutdown. It would shutdown sometimes after 10 miles the other times at 200 miles.......In the city I had no problems...I did everthing....I was surprised it was the IP.Replaced that and everthing was OK....Make sure you check everything before replacing a IP...

I've seen a few 94-95 trucks with this sort of problem. Driving along normally, then would start losing power, accompanied by a strange whirring/ratcheting noise. They would continue to lose power until they would shut down, then would sometimes start back up immediately, sometimes not for a minute. The cycle would then repeat itself several miles later.
These were internal injector pump failures. I'm not saying this is your problem, but it may be if you hear that peculiar noise while it is acting up.

I just bought a lift pump. Figured that was the cheapest thing to start with. Plane to put it on this weekend. I guess the IP will be next. Hope not. Thanks for all the info. I will let you know if this was the problem.

Sorry to hear that you had to order a IP...I know I did everything to fix my highway shutoff problem and replacing the IP fixed it...Did you order a performance pump?Or did you go with the stock 175 rebuild?
