The issue that I am having is when slowing down to stop, and right at the last few seconds before I come to a complete stop the transmission feels like it "unlocks" for a split second and then goes back into gear and gives a little lunge letting me know that it is getting back into gear just before I come to a complete stop. Hope I'm being as explanatory as possible to describe the event. Let me know what you think, I had an incident today where when I began to accelerate from a stop, the motor "reved" before locking up and putting out power to move.
Are we talking about the same thing meaning does the solenoid and transducer control this event?

....I would try the aforementioned sensor/solenoid. sounds like your coming up to a stop in second and feeling it bump to first late. Rev from takeoff may have been the trans taking off in 2, and quickly shifting to 1st. Often they go and you come up to a stop and the trans won't shift to 1st automatically...you have to manually pull it down.

^ My thoughts exactly! Thats where I would start. Governor pressure transducer, and governor pressure solenoid, along with a new filter, fluid and gasket.

Thankyou my southern brother. I also found the codes. I'm thinking I need to go back and check out my connections and taps taht I did when hooking up the Xzillaraider and Commander. I've only had it on about 1000 miles now, and maybe I've got some loose connections. The one thing that I would like to know is what is a safe "high" temp. for the automatic trans. I think i've seen mine as high as 185*F while empty driving conservative.
What gives?

there is a sheet somewhere that shows where the fluid starts to break down.
I'm trying to find it now, but I believe 185 isn't terrible at all. I have 210 in my mind.

Someone probably will post this chart up for us.

I've got the transducer and solenoid coming from a buddy of mine who works at a transmission rebuilder in OKC. He said that they've got these in stock because they see alot of the 48re's coming in with bad transducers and or solenoid problems also like VZ said earlier. I'm going to go ahead and change them out along with a new filter and see what happens.

VZ, if the transducer and solenoid don't cure this downshift into first issue, what would be another reason why it won't decide to downshift into first?

Not really anything left other than wiring or computer. Those two parts are the most crucial for the descisions to shift down and up from first thru third gears.

Should be close. I think the most I ever put in was six, so maybe get one or two more just in case.

Well, I got my parts yesterday, but ran out of time to do the change. Here's the crazy part. Today I had to go to work and not once did my transmission drop or become indecisive to downshift at a stop. I checked my Xzillaraider settings, drove in all three settings to see if something would happen. I drove it like an old lady on a sunday drive for a while, drove it regular for a while, and drove it like I stole it for a while and still no repeats on my original problem. The only thing that I noticed is that if I had it on level 2 with the Xzillaraider it might be a little indecisive on 1st going into 2nd when taking off. There is a Gremlin in this trans. I will still do the transducer/Solenoid and filter change to see if it corrects itself. This is gettin' crazy.LOL

Yep, solenoid and transducer. Replaced both, and now good to go.
