03 Water Pump Posted in Engine & Drive Train Need Help Now

I posted this in 3rd Gen Engine Drive Train Area, now I have a concern if somebody could help.

When I went and got new pump it has a ring welded to the blades.
Question is did the old one have a ring welded to the BLADES?

Reason I ask is my pump had a blade broke off and sitting in the water jacket area and the old pump did not have this ring at all.

If anyone has changed there old pump did it have this ring?
Maybe this is a new and re-designed pump. Hopefully

Thanks ya'll

I don't post much just read and take knowledge off this great website. if someone could help it is much appreciated.

Just different designs in the pump. No big deal. I don't think there is any passage that the ring could fit though if it had been on the old one. And I doubt that the entire thing could have deteriorated.

I had one that came a part and found all the pieces siting in the water jacket right next to the oil cooler. I thought over time might cause problem if pieces of water pump were not removed. So I removed oil cooler and there they were.

elirandolph:I got mine from Autozone Lifetime warranty $60.00 and some change. Plus (2) gallons of extended life anti-freeze Total was about a $100.00 Bill

BigIron70: I had just (one) blade break off got it out.

Like I said the new one has a ring welded to the bottom of the Impellar Blades and a ring welded to the top of the blades. I was just kinda worried there, but after inspecting the old and the new pump and the response from the one's posted to my concern on this I was not too concerned anymore. Hey Thanks Y'all.
Got it back on the road fairly quick just (2) Bolts hold it on. Easiest waterpump I ever changed in my life.
