01 Cummins 6 speed no start
Hello. Yesterday my truck wouldn’t start after driving around all day. The wait to start light is dim and flickering and the lift pump doesn’t have 12 volts going to it. Could it be a bad ground? Where do I look?

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
Suggest that the first step is to have your batteries checked. Also have the alternator output checked. Let us know what you find and we can go from there.

There is a link in post #4 here you might look at.

Mine ended up being a loose connector on the back of the cluster

12.4 volts at the batteries is no good. You're probably using a voltage tester on each battery while they're connected to each other too, which will completely falsify the readings. Dual batteries must be fully and completely disconnected from each other and the truck to get a true reading. If you're seeing 12.4 then likely one of them is really bad (possible bad cell) and the other is making it seem not so bad. But just know that 12.4 is about 75% battery capacity at best. Likely they fall much flatter the second you turn the key to ON. If your batteries are in good condition then testing them disconnected should read no less that 12.5 / 12.6 each.
