Wrong Fuel Type on Va Title
I just got the title in the mail for my 2006 Mega cab. Somebody screwed up and put GAS as the fuel type for the truck. Does anyone know if there are advantages or disadvantages to this? I need to decide if I am going to call the dealer and raise a stink about it or not worry about it.
Thanks,
Chris

This happened to me when I bought my '98 12v in late '97. I didn't notice it on my registration until I got informed that a smog test was due. Calif. wasn't doing diesel smog tests a that time. I had to go to DMV where they had to physically look at the engine. To quote the female DMV employee, "yes, it is a diesel."

Good point. I don't have emission inspections in my area of Va, but they do in Northern Va, so it may happen here at some point. I reckon that's a good reason to get it fixed.

First thing that comes to mind is resale value. Potential buyer might see the discrepancy as evidence that the engine was swapped and has lower value. Provable otherwise with VIN, but a potential pain in the butt, especially to the ignorant people that trust any paperwork that comes from the government.
