Where do these turbos come from.
where can you find turbos such as an s300, s400, hx40, htb2, htb3..... what types of vehicles do they come off of... What are they called before they are tore down and sold by HTT Dynomit Diesel, And all those opthers... what types of vehicle are factory equiped with these turbos?
s300, s400, hx40, htb2, htb3 |
Dont know about the others but the HX40 is used on the Case 1850K crawler probably the most common turbo from the list.
The HX40 can be found on the Cummins ISC as stock eqpt. We have a few Macks in the shop with S300s. As for many of the others you have listed they can be found on large diesel engines from rigs and ag. eqpt.
I see there in your info you say your to far from OH... I'm dying to finish up school and get back to New England. OH aint for me and NE aint for you.. Lets trade places[laugh] . |
hahaha its massachusetts that bothers me...lol i am going out there for school at The Ohiostate University in August! That will be my Move...
not to hyjack but to add one, what about an HT4C?
I have an S300 on my tool box at the house off of a Mack. If the little cummins could spool that, it would make a great turbo in a twins setup I think? Maybe? No?
The S300 is what all of the HTB2/Sledpuller 66 and other popular chargers are made from. It's just been modified and had some port work done on it.
so your telling me to go find a mack and get myself an s300..... hmmm, ill have to have my dad do some searching around his shop for one....
DO ALL 8.3 LITER CUMMINS ENGINES COME WITH AN HX40 TURBO? I FOUND ONE THAT HAS A VERY DECNT LOOKING TURBO ON IT. THE GUY TOLD ME ITS IS A H1E.... THE TAG NUMBERS ARE Assembly # 3527107
Serial H54793 |
The H1E is the predecessor to the HX40, like the H1C is to the HX35. The H1E should have the same compressor/turbine options as the HX40, but if it isn't a WH1E then it isn't wastegated.
ok, would that work for this setup im running...
What is the wastegate operating pressure on a hx40 on the 8.3. We have one in a fire truch and I have always wondered that?
