Whats the best deal you've got
 

Most of us at one time or another have run across a deal too good to pass up. Probably the best deal I got was when I bought my '95 CTD for $2000 because the guy said on ebay that it wobbled so bad it couldn't be driven. I went to pick it up with a spare trackbar in hand, swapped it in his driveway in under and hour, and drove the truck home. There have been a few others but that was probably the best. Anyone else have a good story?

Man I missed an 02 2500 2wd SLT reg cab with a V10 and manual transmision with 6,000 miles on it back in 06. It sold on ebay for $6500 and was clean as a whistle.

gotta love the sale a recently divorced person makes..

I sold it to get married.. didnt work either.. but i did make some money off of it and drove it 160K miles without major issues

Went to visit a friend one afternoon and found him down the block from home sweating like a pig and pushing a motorcycle. I asked him what he was doing and he explained that a guy owed him money and gave him the dirt bike, he had been pushing it up and down the street for an hour trying to get it to run.

He was so mad he told me the first hundred dollar bill would take it. The bike was an Italian 2 cycle Montessa 360 Capra that had been bored out to 400 these were great bikes and very fast.

I kicked it over and checked compression, then grabbed the spark plug wire and kicked again :o Lit me up like a Christmas tree so I knew we had compression and spark. I handed him 100 bucks, pulled the plug and went down to the parts store for a new one. Came back put the plug in and it started on the first kick [laugh] man I loved that machine, it would really haul on the trails. :)

I just got a running 4bt for free does that count???

I bought my truck new in August 2005 for $35k on the road. It's five years old now and with 105K miles on it it's still worth over $20K. A car with the same starting price might be worth the cost of a Starbucks latte by now.

I bought a brand new Honda FRC800 rototiller off of ebay 4 years ago for $1500.00 in Illinois (up here the same thing is $3400 + PDI & freight). A friend was heading back from Georgia and was driving right through that town on the way back and picked it up. Not 1 issue with that tiller. Its been dropped off the back of the truck 3 times, been upside down numerous times and owes me nothing. Still the original drive belt on it and I have at least 800 hours on that unit and does not burn a drop of oil. That thing has made me ALLOT of money... [guitar]

Another good deal was a 16 foot Lund fishing boat that I bought for $500.00. Revenue Canada froze the guys bank accounts and he needed cash. Good boat!!!

Not too many years ago you could get a good wife for a couple horses and a milk cow and she knew how to split wood and cook!.... Of course that was a LONG time before Stan met his lovely Bride ;)

I heard that you were old, but never realized that you were THAT old. Sheesh, how old do you have to be to old enough to have bought a wife for a couple of horses and a cow? [coffee][laugh]

I bought a Snap-On tool box full of tools, mostly Snap-On for $200 at a garage sale.
Woman selling it didn't know what it was really worth, belonged to her dead husband.
I felt a little bad about taking advantage but could tell she was very well off and just wanted to clean things out.

I never find these good deals but a freinds father in law came across a screamin deal. He was at a garage sale in a ritsy part of town and a lady was selling some tools. He asked if she had anymore and she said sure my husband has shelvs full over here. She asked what he wanted and he asked here how much for everything. She said $500. There was a trailer full of stuff he got. Planers and table saws and routers and everything. Come to find out she had recently found out he was cheating on her and wanted revenge. :o

I have found quite a few deals on Wheel Horses over the years.
My favorite deal happened like this- I went into the hardware store to get a $3 part. My deal radar was on, and I noticed a Stihl 660 chainsaw on the shelf. The price tag was $500, and another one beside it was $1150. Long story short, someone bought it, ran straight gas in it, came back and bought a new one. Dealer rebuilt the saw (it was new, but the cylinder and piston were toast), and put a warranty on it. I bought it figuring that if I didn't want it, I knew a couple of friends who were looking for a saw that big (7 hp). Too bad for them- I love that saw.

Years ago picked up a Ford 88 Turbo Coupe Thunderbird for 400.00 because the trans spit fluid out the over flow tube...... Literally followed the trail to the guys house and into his garage.

Towed it home, did a lil research, picked the trans clutch debris out of the cooler, top it off and sold it 3 days later. I pocketed 2800.00 for being smart.

Bought a radio for it 40.00 , and windshield 180.00 having owned it for almost 3 years. Oh yeah, the hp box [duhhh] [laugh]
