Vacuum

This might be a stupid question but are the gas pedals on the 24v done by vacuum? I know on the PSD they are vacuum.

Re:Vacuum

There are cables leading from the pedal to the APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor). The APPS sends the signal to the engine to adjust fuel and rpm as throttle is applied.

Re:Vacuum

Yeah I hear ya but in the 15 years I was in the trade and 10 I worked for F*rd I never ever saw a go pedal that ran by vac. I left in 2000 and the PSD then were FIPL operated (Fuel injection pump lever), which was a potentiometer attached to the pedal in the truck feeding info to the PCM. OBD II changed the name don't remember what it is called now tho. They always felt like they were dead for the first inch or so. My last F*rd was a '98 and it had the FIPL sensor. I guess they changed something in 2002??
