Truck just had its passenger side window keyed... son of a b...

Not sure when it happened, believe it happened when i parked in a parking lot when the place i shop at was full so i was all the way in the back where noone would be very often...

GOD I HATE PEOPLE.

ok picture about 30 little lines going up and down then some wavy lines through the vertical lines and now you see my passenger side glass...

I HATE PEOPLE

Why do people do things like this to new vehicles?
Im so happy they didnt touch the paint though.. i dont see any scratches on the paint but its all over the passenger window.

One day when i have the time, im going to buy a security setup so that i can have a video of both my passenger and driver side windows along with a camera set up aiming out the front window... this would make me catch 90% of the people that do anything...

Im so mad guys, are people just envious? or are they mad at the world

now i have to figure out how to get the glass fixed, Replace it i guess, but ill have to cover the charged

sigh

How did a key scratch the glass? It almost sounds like scraping frost off the window. If someone wanted to ruin your day they would have keyed the paint.

Can it be buffed out or is it scratched?

That's what I'm thinking. I scratch a windshield on one of my vehicle using of all things, a credit card, to clear the frost and ice off.

thse are deep scratches.

i can put my finger nail into the scratch its that deep.

they sell buffing kits for the windows where you pretty much sand it down a little to even it out then smooth it to original :/

i guess ill throw some money onto that..

and i havent even used an ice scraper yet on these windows

but i dont believe that would scratch it if i did since ive never scratched a window ever before while ice scraping..

what is dodge doing making the windows out of super cheap glass?

You should just have it replaced ASAP.

The cold weather is going to aggravate and possibly turn those scratches into cracks.

It's tough to get over any damage to an old vehicle let alone a brand new one.

Just reading your story has my BP up.

Did you check with the parking lot owner to see if they have security cameras? Probably too much to hope for but who knows, maybe you could get lucky.

I always park in "BFE" when I go anywhere. Trying to avoid the door job....and it NEVER fails, when I come out, there is someone parked in the space beside the truck....500 other empty spots and they choose that one.

why didn't the glass shatter? those windows are suppose to be tempered glass, and that shatters if you poke it with something hard & sharp...

dont know why, i dont think they were poking it hard, but its definately fairly deep scratches.

but it looks like inside the scratch the window isnt tinted... i guess it seems tinted.

The windows are tinted a small amount from the factory right? or am i confused?

does dodge tint the windows with a coat of something on the outside?

because i was about to start polishing the window with some compound to get the scratches out maybe.

i dont really want to spend that money on the glass. Even though i love this truck to death, its not THAT noticeable.. and im sure after polishing it down correctly it will not be able to be seen unless you get really close.

Alot of times glass is covered on your insurance with no deductible. Don't know if it covers scratches though. Last truck got was keyed from the hood to the tailgate before I even got my permanent plates.
