texaco flushed my friends auto trans out for 50.00 and told him the screen dosnt get serviced or replaced???is this correct?is there no filter in there??he has 48,000 miles on his 2002 f250 4x4 ??

I don't exactly know about the 4R100, but it's ancestor, the E4OD does have a replaceable transmission filter. Most automatic transmission flush deals do not include filter replacement. That's extra, and of course, involves dropping the pan. I suggest you or your friend log on to the Autozone website, plug in the numbers, and see if they have a filter for that transmission. If they do, then you'll know for sure.

Well, I did it. Plugged in '02 F-250 automatic(4R100) and Autozone stocks a replacement tranny filter #TF350 for $19.99. So, yes it has one.

The 4r100 has a filter but from what I was told is a screen for big pieices and thats it. You can change it but if it reaches the point where its actually plugged changing the filter isnt going to help that tranny..lol
