tires
My 2500 ctd 2 wheel drive is worthless on snow ! Are there any hot tips on good tires. I've got Goodyear ATD-2 m/s and they were the biggest waste of money I ever spent , and wasn't cheap either. Thanks for any help

Its not always so much on brand and tread with tires, as much as size. A narrower tire will help ya out just as much as a dedicated snow tread will.

With 2wd and a diesel in front, you need lots of weight in the back and a set of Cooper Discoverer STT's. Fantastic in the mud and snow. If they are too agressive for you. Get the Cooper Discoverer ATR's. I have them on our Expedition and Outback and they do excellent in the snow as well.

I put on 4 Copper Discoverer STT, had the center siped and love them compared to the factory Michelin LTX A/S tires that are worthless on the snow and ice. I can say the Copper was one of the few tires I looked at that did not have 2 ply sidewall tires. I was surprised how many E rated tires have 2 ply sidewall.

Michelins are the best tires on the market in almost every application.
They just don't make a tire big enough for my use so never bought them.
Have had really good luck with BFG's ATKO's but have heard the new ones are only D load, no more E loads.
Have had horrible luck with a set of Bridgestone Ravo's, they do ok in the snow but are wearing really fast.
Having good luck with a set of Nitto Terra Graplers. Affordable, good for a lot of miles with decent traction.
Know people who have had good luck with the Yokahama Geolanders. They are cheap to buy and are good for a lot of miles.

There was a guy on here, Hoss I believe? Did he not have a trick, or said he filled his bed with concrete?
Two wheel drive, diesel in front......any tire with a load of bricks in the bed. Have a steel place cut ya out a 4'x6' piece of 1/2" plate steel, lay in bed that should help, or dump the factory bed for a flatbed.
