Amen, my f350 with big springs and 40's.......my rear end and lower back would actually hurt after a long ride.....LOL It was fun, but hey I love the way my ram rides.

I have a poor mans truck. The only options I have are Club Cab, 12v CTD, 4x4, and CC but that don't work. Work truck? Come see it up close Every time I hit a bump in the road, I swear that my rear jumps about 3" even with bad shocks I LOVE IT!!

I traded my dodge Monday for an 08 F250 loaded to the gills and it is extremely comfortable. I am on the road a lot and want to be comfortable. i dont like sitting for a long time, i like to be active. If i have to be sitting, i want to be comfortable. Hence why i got leather seats and dual zone climate control. I can be comfy and any passengers can be comfy.
good luck

I know a chevy guy who always complains aboot the roughness of my half ton. AAARRRGH. ITS a truck, for pete's sake. If I wanted i nice ride Id buy a car.

Electric windows, locks, auto trans are also stuff I dont like. I might be old fashoned , but I like basic trucks.

Rant off. I feel better.
well what about OTR trucks, where do they fall in. I like a nice ride, comfortable seats, and power everything. it all depends what you use your truck for, if your on the farm or use your truck just for playing then yeah you dont need to be that comfortable or have a nice interior, but if you do any bit of hauling and are on the road alot then it pays to be comfortable.

I like to be in a comfy truck to, but some of the things are to much. Just a good set of seats, no carpet, a/c, and a fairly good ride. What I hate is that trucks are becoming a yuppie trend, everyone has to have one, have you seen the Lincoln truck, thats a over priced yuppie mobil same with the new f150, if you want a car then get a car or a SUV, just stay away from trucks you yuppie nerds. Truck are for peaple that use them as a truck. I need a truck I use the business end of it, and no its not carpeted back there. I allso think the yuppie trend has helped to drive up the prices on trucks and making it harder for peaple that need them and or use them to get one. Maybe MTGunNu is right if they were more un-comfy maybe they would be less of a yuppie trend, and stay a truck, not a car-truck-thingy that the yuppies want.
I hate to say this but I kind of like the high fuel prices, its making the yuppies sell there un-needed trucks and becouse of the high price of fuel they cant sell them for alot of money. HEHEHE I think thats funny.

Yeah that Lincoln truck....what a useless turd. Kinda like the Cadillac/Avalanche thing.

My truck has cloth seats, power windows/locks and your basic a/c. Manual transmission, cruise control. I was looking for something basic, thought I did not need all of those fancy things, but found this truck used and it came with. I like my power windows, roll down the passenger side window at anytime I want and then back up again. Power door locks, not really a big deal, I have kids so I can unlock both sides for them to get in, when I run in the gas station I can lock the doors and run in(truck still in my view) and grab what I need and when I go out they unlock the doors. I've been to Western N.Y, south Georgia almost into Florida, Alabama and who knows where I'll be going next, so it's nice to have some comfort. It's still a 3/4 ton truck though and the ride is just that, but when it's loaded it's doing it's job.

The POS ford I drive at work, F550, horrible God aweful ride. Bumps toss my tools around inside the tool boxes and I have to pick them off the bottom nearly everyday. Plastic bench seat and the foam in the seat has no, and I mean no cushion!!! It's like riding on a brick, manual windows(ok, not a problem) automatic???? and no cruise control???? Rubber floor mats, no big deal that's how my dodge is and I like that it's easy to clean......when I clean it. I don't know why they have an automatic, sure it's nice but I'd still rather row the gears. No cruise control? I regularly put on 300-450 miles in a day and it gets tiring holding the pedal on long interstate drives. Our salesman have decked out F150's, am/fm/cd, power everything......ok, I'd better stop ranting.......

With the way the manual crank handles are made of plastic nowdays, I belive
power windows are more reliable. But I prefer vinyl floors over carpet anyday of the week. I wanted a manual trans, but wanted an American made truck more, so I settled for the auto.

Personally, it's function over form. I like the nice stuff in my truck but it's not a necessity. Independant front suspension doesn't belong on a truck. I have an '86 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4. No radio, no a/c, rides like a lumber wagon, love it. The nice stuff is more for the family on long trips. If I was a single man I would have bought a regular cab ST and saved some money. Nice stuff does have it's place on a truck when you have a wife and two kids though.

I guess that I have the best of both worlds. My 96 rides the best of any truck I have ever had, or for that matter, any truck I have ever been in, especially in dirt. NO RATTLES whatsoever. I can go down any washboard road at any speed and it just takes it all in stride. I don't know what Dodge did, but in mine they got it right. I always think the seat is a bummer, but I can sit in it for 12 hours and still be fine. I have a small back pillow and it really helps. Yeah, it has the basics, pw, pdl and p-mirrors, but that is about it. My neighbor has a Chevy Z series 4x4 and it is a complete car in comparison. His can go 80 a lot quiter than I can
I had a old 62 Chevy Surburban Carryall 4sp for 20 years, man what a brick! The thing that killed that beast was the rubber floor mat. Water got under, coming from behind the front wheels and it and completely rusted out the floorboards into the frame. For those who have rubber mats, be careful.

you would love my 78 chevy truck. except for the auto it has nothing power this or that-- well, unless you count the "power rust option"

Yup, just had this converstation the other day with my friend and his finace that are jealous because my truck cost 20 grand more than his used F150... "They just couldn't have a dodge because the interior was like out of the 80's with cheap plastic, push dials and ***** *noses up in air".

My response in my best don't try to compete with me I have the nicest toys voice... "I could have bought a benz if I wanted a fancy dash you're just jealous because my truck costed 20g's more than yalls ".... Went on to say Ford are nice and comfy but their engines suck D gas and diesel.

If it weren't for people talking me into a nice 4 door truck I would have bought a DRW single cab.

I have heard several people complain, that it's next to impossible to find a plain jane pickup,of any brand. Some where along the line, the manufactures, decided that nobody wants,a plain old work truck, with rubber floor mats, manual windows, and a bench seat. They don't understand that not all pickups are highway queens, and are used like a truck if I were looking for a new truck the only extra, besides the cummins:cool would be air,but I could even live without that
