OK, this is REALLY starting to annoy the dookie out of me. I HATE HATE HATE it when I hear peoples complain about a truck's interior being "nice". IT IS A TRUCK!!! All that matters to is the durability. I like a truck that if I spill coffee on the floor, seat, etc., I can go back later and wipe it clean. That is what makes a truck.
I know a chevy guy who always complains aboot the roughness of my half ton.
AAARRRGH. ITS a truck, for pete's sake. If I wanted i nice ride Id buy a car.
Electric windows, locks, auto trans are also stuff I dont like. I might be old fashoned , but I like basic trucks.
Rant off.
I feel better.

ive had a couple trucks with automatics and power windows, they are nice but was NOT needed, just more crap to go wrong. we went to buy a 2002 F150 extended cab shortbed 2wd V8 automatic 5 years ago and they guy looked at my mom like she was dumb when she said she wanted a "work" truck, bench seats, crank windows, a/c, it didnt even have a CD player, we finally talked to 3 dealerships and found one, well a year and a 1/2 later we traded it for a 2001 F150 5 speed 4x4 extended cab short bed V8 "work" truck even up, just refinanced and swaped titles, one of the best trucks i have ever had, rides better than anything ive ever owned, has 155,000 miles now and have had very minimal problems and gets 15 MPG, gets probably 12 MPG towing sensably. now the problem, according to Ricart, worlds second largest ford dealership, they said there wasnt another truck off the assembly line like it, NICE cloth 60/40 seat with manual lumbar, cruise, tilt, vinyl floors, 5 speed, overhead temperature console, it was a XLT interior in a XL truck, they told us to keep it and never get rid of it cause they couldnt even find another one like it when they did a US dealer search in 2003. if it was my choice, automatics wouldnt even be an option in trucks, only way you should get it if your over 55 or have to have one. all my buddies want steering wheel controls, leather, 50 disc 100 speaker bose sound system, heated seats, those are all nice until they start going bad. i want something that rides, acts, and runs like a truck should, IFS is nice but Leafs and a Dana 60 work good for me and my kidneys.
Personally, i want to be comfortable. Many of these people use their trucks as their work. They make money using their trucks. Its always good to be comfortable.
I traded my dodge Monday for an 08 F250 loaded to the gills and it is extremely comfortable. I am on the road a lot and want to be comfortable. i dont like sitting for a long time, i like to be active. If i have to be sitting, i want to be comfortable. Hence why i got leather seats and dual zone climate control. I can be comfy and any passengers can be comfy.

you just described my 1996 f150. Thats why when I do have the finances i will get an old 2gen or a 1gen, possibly even a 1980-97 ford f350 and do a cummins 12valve swap.
Im all for reliability. comfyness is nice, but if your over complicated engine dies, you are SOL, even with "premium leather" massaging captains chair.'Im glad Im not alone on this.
me, it would be a 78 or 79 F350 crewcab long bed with a 12 valve, 6 speed and 271HD into the factory 60 front with crossover steering and a Dana 80 rear on 35 inch groundhawgs, all spring lift, big heavy kidney killer, i would keep the A/C just because im fat and hate to sweat. if i can find the 2 trucks i need, 78/79 F250 or F350 with no axles and a F600 4x4 ford with a 12 valve cummins in it, i will have the parts for the truck i want to build.

74 dart, haha I'm a grandfather, add a great to that. I tell my kids that they can use my truck to haul me and the casket to the grave yard, they won't need a Caddy hearse. Just be sure to use my heavy duty tie downs so I don't fall out. haha Then they can do what they want with the truck.
You can't GET 'real' trucks anymore, that's why I got my International last year. The only 'comfort' it has is A/C, and I bought the truck used so I had no choice. Rubber floor mats, vinyl seat, 7 speed manual and rides like a buckboard. I love it!

For me, its not the huge comforts. I want a comfortable seat. Thats my main thing. Leather sucks. I hate. I HATE leather in vehicles. Unless its a BMW or something. I have leather in my Ranger, and it sucks.
To me, I require three things for comfort:
Ease of getting in and out of the truck
Comfortable CLOTH seat
carpet. I hate the vinyl flooring. I've had it in all of my trucks, and I just can't stand it anymore. So hard to clean. And gets dirty easy, to the point where I feel like I should armor all my floor!
Thats my comfort level. Manual windows? Sure. 4 out of my 6 vehicles I've owned have had them. Manual locks? Meh, I'm used to walking around and unlocking my fiancee's door and opening it for her. Manual A/C? My dad has the auto A/C in his Volvo, with the whole climate control thing. I hate it. It blows when I don't want it to, and doesn't when I need it too. Plus, if you get at 3/4 throttle, the car shuts it off until you are under 3/4 throttle. Room enough for 6 6' men? Meh. I don't want a megacab. I really don't even want 4 full doors. I don't need that room. Thats why my fiancee has the car, not me. I want extended cab for stuff room. Yes, it can fit people back there (abit uncomfortably if they hit that 6' height), but its not the purpose. Navigation? Okay, I admit I do like this feature. But I haven't had it, and I've survived. Could I use it? Oh yes. Can I survive without it? Yep.
My two bits.

my 90 has navigation in it, its called Rand McNally and sets behind the seat until i need it. i hate carpet, you get in with muddy boots and there goes that, vinyl you just hose it out. if it was my choice, you would be able to get rhino liner as a option for flooring.
