I'll keep an eye out here in the Edmonton area. Theives should be treated with the shoot, shovel and shut up theory. I know how it feels, I had my dirt bike stolen out of my garage last year.

Theives...rrrrr

First let them have some bedding.....next let them have a magazine......next, a radio, then TV, etc. Then, after they have earned all these things and have become accustomed to having them.............go in and take it ALL away at one time! Make them do without it for awhile and then slowly start the process all over again.

Cruel and unusual punishment? Probably........
or when their 1 year jail sentence is over say well we'd love to let you out but some thief came and stole the keys to your cell,....sorry guess you'll have to stay there

**** UPDATE ****
Saw the truck today. The fender is gonna need to be replaced and a bedside as well as a headlight and taillight. Needs a new bumper/grill etc. Doesn't look like it will be written off though. THEY STOLE THE GAUGES AND BUG DEFLECTORS off the front hood. so if you seen any of this for sale please let me know... not the cops me. I'd like to show them real justice. 703-8135. They are Autometer Ultra-Lite with a green backlight. Pillar is for 1994-2002 Dodge Ram. Gauges are a trans gauge, a boost gauge and a pyrometer. But hey, at least they left my chip... still waiting on mechanical inspection...

P.S. They found it in sundre... so an even bigger flag if they are for sale there...

I know hindsight is always 20/20, but buy a "Club" and put it on all the time, everytime. I use one on my truck everytime it is parked. Yes the Club can be defeated. However, you'll need different, bulkier tools for that job than to steal one that is not protected. I can find a twelve year old that could steal my truck in under 30 seconds. All they need is a screw driver. Dodges and the early GMs (Square key for ign and round key for door system) are the easiest. If someone really wants to steal your truck, they can, but, most of these thefts are opportunistic. They usually steal trucks to do "smash and grab" crimes (drive into doors etc instead of trying to jimmy them), and they use the truck to haul away the goods from B+Es.

Oh....BTW, I'm a Police Officer here in Sask.

Thats exactly what it was stolen for. the stereo equipment and other stolen goods are still in the truck... which i think is odd, cause its at the auto body shop and the cops never took any of it out...

They should have taken it out and seized it (kept in police evidence). They can check it for latent fingerprints, and return it to the owners if they can be located. You may have to kick them in the rear by phoning them and telling them what stuff in the truck isn't yours. It can be a bit confusing for the officer who finds it and recovers it, as you're not sure if the contents belong to the owner or if they are stolen property.

BTW: Sorry this has happened to you, it sucks when someone violates your property.

All my friends think I'm nuts. I pop the hood and take the starter relay out and put it in my pocket! (when in high crime area) They can steal everything in the truck but it WILL BE THERE! Just my 2 cents and my wife says I'm cheap!

I may go out and buy a club tomorrow. Now you've got me thinking. while im in college, my truck sits in the same parking spot (on the side of a busy road) 4 days a week without moving.... I've worried about a tailgate or something going missing, but a club is definately a deterrent... The other day after a snow i went to my truck, and hit the unlock button. With viper alarms, it chirps twice when you unlock, but if the alarm has gone off it chirps 5 quick chirps. Well apparently the alarm had been set off somehow and i'll bet i know how. i thought it may have been from a snow blower or snow plow going by because it has been set off before for that reason, but now that i think of it, i noticed that one side of my toolbox was unfastened but the other side was not. I'll bet that they tried to finaeggle with my toolbox and they stepped too heavily and set off the alarm and ran!! nothing was stolen but a club is definately in the future for me!

I put a Ravelco unit in my truck. Might be worth your wile to check it out. Just pull the plug, snap it on my keys. It disconnects the fuel system, starter system, and sonething else-can't remember. They will need a flatbed at that point can't hotwire it.

I hope it all turns out good for you and you also find the pukes that stole it, they DO deserve a little justice first hand. You could probably sniff around talking up some thinks you need and someone will steer you right to them.
