And most diesels out there live their whole lives stock, and stock they are fairly even powerwise, and the Cummins tends to feel the slowest...

Stock Dodge spec or Cummins spec?

I have a friend/co-worker who worked for Cummins in the mid 80's through early 90's . He was absolutely disgusted

when he saw how far Cummins had to detune the 5.9 engine to keep from destroying the tiny transmissions installed in the Dodge light duty trucks. When I first met him in 1994, he told me they regularly dynoed this engine to 900 ft/lbs at the factory back in the day.
