Don't know. But be aware that if you drive thru deep water even with a snorkel, your electronics will get soaked. The truck will never be the same, will have numerous gremlins.

Hey Shovelhead, Ain't you heard? There are only two types of vessels in the Navy. Submarines and TARGETS. What target were you on?

Amen to that. You will quickly find your cab is NOT WATER PROOF and that you feet will be wet, carpet soaked and you have tadpoles multiplying in your cab (maybe that's grimlins... ). Flood damaged vehicles are considered salvage and are issued salvage titles after the insurance companies eat them in the claim. But when you drive your vehicle through water deep enough to need a snorkle then you will essentially be flooding your truck. Usually the water you drive through is not Evian or Ozarka and after your cab and carpet dry out the mud and muk remain (and tadpoles ). So unless you seal up every hole in your cab so that your cab is water tight I wouldn't drive through water any deeper than the bottom of the cab, slowly! But if you have a really cool tricked out mall cruiser then definatley put a snorkel on. They really look cool and mean - I'm not patronizing you here, I really think they look cool.

The electrics in the engine compartment are sealed up pretty well for brief submersion. However that radiator fan moving at 1500 RPM now becomes a propeller... I've heard horror stories about the fan breaking off under water and going into the radiator. So consider an electric fan with an in-cab on/off switch - that's what I've seen on some serious water crossers. Please don't forget to seal up your cowl vent somehow. Its made to handle rain but when submerged it's close to a 1 sq ft hole right into your ventalation system.

Show pics if you go with one. I'd like to see it. I too would like to have one but I'll never go thru the trouble of sealing up the cab so it'll be just for looks or if I ever get caught in a flood.

My old truck can go in deep water, I don't think I would want to take the new one through. You can't seal everything up it just isn't going to work. Beter of to remove carpet seats ect and install some simple canvas seats. Seal the electonics the best you can and have fun. I want a snorkle for the old truck right now I can only go to the top of the hood and have gone to the point of feet on the dash so they don't get wet. There is techneic to fording enter the water slowly and once in speed up to a fast walk. You will make a bow wave infront of the truck and a depresion were the engine is so it will keep running. And yes you need to do something with the fan if it dosen't break it will suck your rad into the fan.
