Rubber or metal valve stems???

Howdy, I got new tires a couple weeks ago and just noticed they put rubber valve stems in. I am pretty sure I had metal valve stems for the last 100k or so. Should I take it back and make them change them?

If you are running load range E get the metals back on it. I got rid of the rubber after I found out a lot of Chinese junk stems were failing. Had two fail on my fifth wheel and replaced ALL of them, truck and fiver!!

The difference in the stems is the pressure they're rated for. You need to get the metal ones back in there.

I had a rubber one break on me. Glad it was in my driveway. I was getting ready to head to El Paso, had the truck loaded and was in the house (house front door open ) and heard this awful noise (like someone slashed my tire) so I ran out yelling like someone did slash a tire and saw the rubber stem kicked off to one side and dry rotted cracks all over. inspected the other 3 and they were cracked too. Was able to push the stem back on, drove ever so slowly to the tire shop to have it replaced.

GET THE METAL ONES BACK ON!!!

FWIW, use plastic caps on your metal valve stems. I just had a case where my cap ( metal ) was locked solid, broke the stem when I had to remove it.

And yes, definitely metal stems, I now have to have the stems replaced on Greenie because I was not watching the DUMMIES who put my new skins on. They removed my METAL stems and replaced them with rubber...
