Road Trip Pretty Good MPG's
Hello Boys and Girls!
Posting this thread from beautiful Big River RV Park at Big River/Earp California. Pretty chilly the last few days yet still warmer that the frozen turd called Alberta, Canada.
I am pulling an 11,000lb 35 Ft. Cougar 5th wheel. we have had this trailer for the last 5 years and the wife and I normally full time in it. We pulled just over 1,700 miles to get here from Wetaskiwin, Ab. The truck, as expected, pulled flawlessly, even through a couple of nasty snow storms up and over the mountain passes. We lost traction twice going up one really bad Edit snow packed mountain climb, the rear wheels broke free and caused the truck and RV to slew slightly sideways. Never lost control yet quite a pucker moment!
I thought that I would post up an html file showing the fuel economy from tank to tank of fuel and then the average over the full distance. I'm pretty sure that my conversions are accurate, or at least fairly close. An average of 14MPG (Canadian calculation) is fair territory for bragging status . My brother, towing about three thousand pounds more with his 2011 F350 (6.7L) PS, averaged about 8MPG on this trip.
Cheers!
Mike

Don't get too excited...it was all downhill!
I did pretty good last summer and posted up. One of the guys I work with insists his bone stock 02 duramax gets 27. I just smile knowing he's full of brown paste......
I'm going to finally add a box and do the free spin hubs this spring, we'll see how she does after that.
Nice job
