Re:Resting your hand on the shifter?

Everyone I've ever ridden with who drives a stick (me included) has rested their hands on the shifters. Doesn't seem to hurt those trannies.

Re:Resting your hand on the shifter?

OK, OK already. I will agree that for the most part this discussion is pure theory. The bottom line is that the likelyhood of any mechanical damage to the modern shifter mechanism on your tranni is minimal, if at all.<br>Sheesh!! Some guys just LOVE to push and prod. Anything to keep an argument/discusion going. ( I never do that )

Re:Resting your hand on the shifter?

I've heard the same, but I just don't know what to do with my right hand while driving! I've had no problems so far (85k miles.) If I ever have any tranny problems, I'll be sure to sing the praises of the crystal shifter.

Re:Resting your hand on the shifter?

Just get the truck with an auto and then your lady can sit in the middle and then you have somewhere to rest your hand ;D ;D

Re:Resting your hand on the shifter?

For as much time as I spend on the computer between work and home (mostly looking at this site), I think it would feel most natural if I replaced my current gear shift **** with a mouse and started to rest my right hand on it. (Maybe Rod could come up with a mouse one that had the Wildcat Paw on it).
