somebody told me that there locking the ECMs , to prevent chipping the trucks
any body hear about this?

The ECM's are locked now but the powers that be have found ways around that...


Anyone read the comments on that article...

California, and every other state should expand that to all recalls. Or at least make it so you can't sell a vehicle that has an unrepaired recall unless the buyer signs a waiver.
You shouldn't be able register a vehicle because you never got that hood latch recall taken care of...

Only with a replacement ecm not by flash

And do you notice how clean california's air is since they've done all this pollution junk all these years? I guess it would be worse but this is all garbage in that state. They can't keep their own house in order,but they'll tell you what to do. And I live in N.J. and we're not far behind Cali.

So, anyone with a 6.7 who gets an ECM replaced, for whatever reason, get's a locked ECM and can throw away their programmer? Seems un-constitutional!

I always thought they where already locked but they just found a way around it with the new downloaders but maybee ime wrong. I dont own one and most likely never will so by time I do, if I ever do they will have found a way around the locks.
