Hey y'all, looking to put a flat bed on the back of my truck. Anybody got some pictures? Gotta try and convince the wife it doesn't look too crazy.
Also, anybody have a preference of one brand or style over the other?

I think the Ultimate Ute aluminum beds are cool looking.

The aluminums are great when new,but give them a few years and most will grow to hate them as they will blacken everything and everyone who touches them from oxidizing. That is my experience with the one I had years ago. I would go steel and a nice linex job on it. Goodluck,,Rick

Chris, that bed looks really nice. It is just about what I'm looking for, except I'm looking to put four underbody tool boxes on it to maximize storage space. I'd rather not put a tool box on the actual bed. I live about 15 miles from the Gooseneck Trailer manufacturing plant in Bryan. They also make beds and will be able to get me one mounted for under $2,000 with the works, tool boxes, gooseneck hitch, reciever hitch, all LED lights, backup lights, cargo lights and two trailer light hookups. The way I see it, I can't hardly beat that. Thanks for the offer though, but Ohio is a little far to get a bed!
Aluminum beds cost about twice as much as steel down here, and I've seen them dent up alot more easily than steel.
I've thought about getting some type of spray on liner, but I've never seen one that will hold up to t-posts, barbed wire, and all other types of stuff I'd chunk on it!

HEY TEXASAGGIE2005 CHECK OUT THE FLATBEDS AT WWW.MHEBY.COM I WORK THERE AND CAN SAY THEY ARE VERY NICE AND WELL BUILT.
i had one (steel) a few years back and was proably the handiest truck i ever owned. Did have a hassle with the state (Mi.) and DOT with it tho. seems they are no longer registerable as pickup trucks. Can't remember for sure what i had to register it as now but remember the the licence plates cost me a lot more.
I got pic in my gallery of my new to me 2002 3500. It has a Hillsboro Alum. Flatbed. It is sharp but I can tell the previous owner was a little rough on it. I have to weld up a couple of small cracks (stress points). But it looks good except that I can't pull one of my trailers, it is too long @10', tried to turn and I could barely turn, so now I'm trying to make up my mind if I want to try and find an original dually bed or try and find a shorter flatbed. Good luck in making your choice.
Nice looking bed Moaggie. I'll only be getting a 8' bed so I don't think I'll be having problems with trailers. And I'll have a semi-banged up dually bed here once I get my new flat bed in about 6 weeks or so. Come to think of it, I'll also have a toolbox, ranchhand bumper, gooseneck ball w/ plate's, and dually bed to sell.
