General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

I am running Premium Blue but I won't go 25,000 plus miles without changing the oil AND filter.

That release applies to ISM/ISX engines, not your ISB. I certainly wouldn't run that much mileage without a couple of changes.

Al is right, you're talking about an engine that holds eight gallons of oil rather than the measly three the Dodge Cummins holds. The ISB in non-Dodge applications holds five gallons but Dodge had to have part of the oil pan cut away for the axle.

You also have to be careful and remember that Dodge pays for any warranty work, not Cummins. I don't think you'd make it very far waving a Cummins.com paper in the service managers face if it didn't conform to a DC requirement.
