new holland skid steer ?

2005 new holland skid steer ls170 turbo It came from auction, so no owners manual. I need to know what weight oil It takes in the engine, hydraulics, and in chaincase if it has one. What is the change interval. The shop mechanic used rotella t 15w40. For some reason it is stuck in my mind that it uses a diesel rated 10w30.Any help will be appreciated.

I found the number to order the manual inside the cab, but the boss is a supreme tight wad and I wont get refunded for it. How much are they out of curiosity.

It uses the same 10w30 in the engine and hydraulics. The only problem is that if someone used regular hydraulic oil in it they won't mix well. I have to order the correct Rotella because my jobber doesn't stock it in gallons, just drums. If I read this correctly, you can order the owners manual from NH for $32.50. http://www.dmcpubs.com/nhconstructio...d=6045427300SP

owners manuals are a high. 10w-30 in the engine and hydraulics. be sure to cahnged the breather cap(hydro. res. cap) with every engine oil change. grease the unit weekly, or more. and tighten the lugnuts EVERY DAY after use. the LS170 is a very good machine. i have never seen any hydro pump or motor problems out of one.

10w30 from the dealer is all that goes in mine. The owners manual does not give you much useful info other than maintance intervals and fluid specs, all of which you can call a New Holland dealer for. A shop manual would be better. I don't have one yet but I will start looking soon. If you don't have aux. hyd. then have fun changing the hyd fluid as there is NOT a drain plug. I found that out the hard way ( I have aux. but did not know to make a hose to drain through it with)
