is there anyone in indiana willing to hook and talk trucks. I need to find someone who is a little more knowledgable about these beasts who would be willing to help me work on it, or diagnose it, or just talk trucks.

I am in Columbus. I dont have a lot of time to sit and talk nor do I have a lot of skill on these engines BUT I do know where to go and NOT go for service work on these trucks.
The best mechanic for the Cummins is a retired cummins tech just a bit south of North Vernon In. His name is Jim Jessup. He is always booked up but will work your in in a reasonable time. I think Cins has used him by looking at her sig.

 

Have you thought of Dave's Diesel in Muncie? I have not used their shop but the parts guy, Randy, is very helpful and knowledgable
