My newest Diesel

Well my addiction to the rattle continues....Today I brought home a 2010 Arctic Cat 700 Diesel ...While its not the fastest thing in the world, it runs on 6 different kinds of fuel and will be more than enough for what I need..I am going to try to get a few miles on her before the mods start to happen!!

I've heard about them, but this is the first time I've seen one .... and I've been looking for a "2 up" model for me and the missus.

I'd love to see more pics of this, and a write up for modding it.

Polaris also makes a diesel model. I think it is the Ranger with like a 800 or 900cc Yanmar. Keith

I think you need a 5" exhaust and then hang on!

I would love to get the Artic Cat diesel ATV. Perfect companion to our Kawasaki Diesel Mule and the kubota RTV.

I have already found info on turning the fuel screw and timing advance, there is a youtube video of a turbo charged AC Diesel, but that will have to wait....due to domestic issues, i want to get a few miles on her before the tinkering begins. I will try to post more pics....

Oh uh, just noticed Arctic Cat calls it a "Super Duty". Hopefully that won't hurt sales or quality too bad...

How well does it start in teh cold?? I asume it has a glow plug. My local dealer has one sitting on the floor ever sence they came out. I dont know if its the same one or if they just keep replacing it when it sells but it apears to be the same one to me.

Starts pretty well in the cold, was -5 out the other morning, cycled the glow plug and cranked a few times and I hit the ice....The battery might be the only down fall, has alot of draw on it, saw a youtube vid of a guy who fit a VW battery in it with some effort.

Does Polaris still make one? I know they did years ago, but about the only takers were farmers and construction crews, who already had diesel fuel available. They only marketed one for a year or two, if I remember correctly. I love a diesel, but it never seemed a good match for an atv, seeing what they are typically used for.
In similar fashion, I added another diesel to the stable- a Kubota B7100 4WD tractor. I love diesel. Plain and simple.

I just did some checking on your new machine. According to the info, the engine has a rebuild time of 10,000 hours! That would outlast the rest of the machine. The MSRP is $9,999- you must have a serious diesel fettish!

You might want to keep an eye on the head gaskets then.
