Maintenance Manuals

I got a case of sticker shock when I went to dodge.com

I want a full manual like I used to get for 75 bucks from the dealer for my trucks.

Any suggestions?

I would go to Genos Garage and order the service manuals from there. They have them in book or CD..

I registered my truck's VIN # at ALLDATA website for about $25 for the 1st yr. & my renewal this yr. cost me about $17.

This is the way to go nowadays, as the factory service manuals have gotten ridiculously expensive!

Did an eBay search for a 1992 manual. The site's overloaded with factory service manuals for the little imported Ram 50s.
There may be more manuals out there than there are trucks - nothing left but the manuals sitting on bookshelves.
I see first gen Rams every day, but can't remember the last time I saw a Ram 50.

With labor rates at $70/hr, the factory manual is still a bargain even at a ridiculous price.

Thumbs up Factory manuals and DTR

I agree 100%. Like most education it can cost up front, but can pay you back tremendously over time. All you have to do is use it.

Being a newbie, it's amazing how different these diesels are compared to the gas engines I'm familiar with.
There's so much new technology to learn, and the Haynes/Chilton manuals aren't big on explaining that.
My Chilton mostly just stays on the bookshelf, and this site is my main source of education.
If I wasn't getting laid off next month, I'd spring for the factory manual.

But DTR is an excellent substitute for me, and better in a lot of ways:
- additional info from the great folks here, just for the asking
- 'sticky's with cool ways to improve your truck
- being able to check out what others do with their trucks
- great advice on getting the best parts and accessories for your money
and on and on. Plus, it's free!

Since I found this site a few months ago, I'm enjoying my truck more than ever. And I always liked it a lot.
I'll get the factory manual eventually, but for now I'm learning a tremendous amount right here, and having fun, too.
The CTD is still mysterious to me, but nothing like before.
