I can't believe they paid $1800 for that thing! It was pretty rough before they even got started, the PO was probably laughing all the way to the bank.

It was a nice touch how they lovingly recovered it from the rubble using an excavator.

I think a 1st gen could do that, but I sure wouldn't be laughing at the video.

I almost had a Mitubishi Diesel back in '82 brand new. Since I was only an e-2 in the service I couldn't get the loan an my old man decided last minute not to countersign (words deleted)
It was a tough little turbo diesel .

I wish they offered a Tacoma with a 4 cyl diesel and a solid front axle. Toyota will not bring back the SFA because they say there's no market, um whatever. As far as a diesel maybe when they introduce their new 3/4-1 ton diesel, smaller diesels will follow.

No market...lol When I used to post on the Land Cruiser Mailing List a lot I remember the Australians talking about how mining companies would buy the newer FJ-80s (diesel of course) and have their fleet mechanics swap solid front axles from older mini-trucks into them because the IFS would constantly wear out from the abuse.

Hmmm... FJ-80s (the ones you usually see at the mall) were SFA until '96, and some came with electric lockers front and rear.

Turboed 4BT + NV4500 + NP205 + FJ-80 =

Once I gutted the interior to bare steel and put a 'roo bar and a snorkel on it I wouldn't be able to resist dressing entirely in khaki and aggravating dangerous animals.

Excellent vechile - really do want a diesel Yoto myself. Not that I would give up the CTD, but what a commuter truck - for a really tough commute!
