Ok why cant DC hook up the Grand Cherokee with a diesel?!!!!!

NO. Not CTD- Cummins Turbo Diesel. CRD- Common Rail Diesel. The engine is some forign joby. I forget the name of the manufacturer but I hear its suposed to be a nice little engine. The glow plugs heat up in less than 2 seconds eliminating the wait to start light and it is suposed to be real smooth and quiet. I read a rite-up on it somewhere and they loved it. Said it had V6 horspower with V8 torque and a 4 cylinder fuel milage. I seen one on my local dealers lot and it claimed 28 mpg hiway. Not bad for a 4 dore,4 wheel drive SUV. Oh ya and as I understand it the Grand is available with a diesel overseas.

Actually, in Europe the Grand Cherokee is available with the Mercedes Benz 2.7L I5 common rail turbo diesel. Hopefully with the switchover to ULSD we start see more light duty diesels in vehicles.

That kind of torque about matches the 4.7 Magnum v8 and isn't too far off from the 5.7 Hemi plus it keeps above 260 ft/lb from 1600 to 3200 rpm. This is right where you would be durring normal driving.

This kind of power moves Isuzu NPRs all day long and seem to move the Sprinter work van ok. These vehicles are up to 12000lbs.
