Yep, the 466 is capable of alot. I dont know about the new electronic ones, but the basic engine is capable of alot....there are some on alocohol with a little more cubes cranking out 3000 ponies. Not really related to the thread, but for those who think for some reason cummins is the only light industrial engine that can take a beating....they would be wrong. The 466 was doing it 20 years before the 6B was popularized.

I ordered the TS performance programmer for it. I believe it has a 2000 series 5spd tranny. It is one of those CXT 4x4 so its pushing more air/heavier tires than a standard IH. In 06 they went to the 300hp DT466 so it probably has the 3000 series tranny.
I'll let you all know how the programmer helps/hurts it.

I drive a 7300 at work with a 300hp 466, it has the 3000 trans, gross weight is 54k(30k empty), and gets 4.4 mpg. Make sure you get the correct power box, they went to common rail in 04 or 04.5.

Just today I saw in the new Diesel World mag that DiabloSport is making "Extreme PowerPucks" for the DT466, 530 & 570, Cummins 8.3, Duramax 7.8, and CAT 3126 & C7.

the trans should be fine, IIRC they got some form of shift energy managment so I wouldnt worry about it.
