How do u turn your truck off?

Thought i'd do the flip side of the other thread. Do u give ur turbo enough time to cool off before u shutoff, or do u just click off?

Temps <300* (pre-turbo) before shutdown.

stop, wait, turn key off.
that is the right way. or you could leave it in gear and set the e'brake and get out.

I usually let it idle 15 seconds if i've been driving normal, towing I let it idle 45 or so, because even though the EGT's are at 300 or below, the turbo should still be pretty hot.

I live on a cul de sac and idle for half a mile before getting to my driveway. By the time I back in the engine has been running at a little over idle for a few minutes. In my mind that is long enough to safely shut down when I get to my space. When I tow, I let it idle for another several minutes after backing the trailer into it's position.

I let it cool off a little, especially if I just came off the highway. When I am towing and stop at a rest area, I leave it running, lock the doors and take the spare key with me.

When I finally get a pyro gauge I will use that ...

I always wait until the EGT is 280 or less and then turn it off. Ed B

I let it run 15 to 30 seconds before shutdown. On a long camping trip I leave it run for a good 2 or 3 minutes before shutting down. It really annoys my passengers when we go somewhere, park in a space, and then I just sit there listening to my truck idle

I park and wait a few seconds, depending on how hard I've been driving. I don't have gauges yet, but I ordered an Edge Juice/Attitude yesterday!!!!
