Here it is..How dissappointing...

Well Guys heres the link to the new 2007 ram 3500....and with the 6.7 liter in it...the ratings are depressing. Made me want to cry. But hey, Ill still buy one!

Just thought ya'll would want to take a look!

2007 Ram 3500

And why is everything toned down so much? the 2003 and up Hemis had 345 not 330. And the Cummins had 325 HP that is weird..

graphitecumnz Mar 1, 2006 09:54 PM

the Hemi in the 3500 has always been 330hp...

chaos24valve Mar 1, 2006 09:55 PM

Really I didnt know that. But then again, i am not a Hemi person! :p
But why would they tone the 6.7 down?

one54ton Mar 1, 2006 09:57 PM

I cant even image how de-tuned that motor is...

Beeram305 Mar 1, 2006 10:01 PM

Why would they do that? Reliability maybe?

derek840378 Mar 1, 2006 10:13 PM

the new 6.7-liter Cummins High Output Turbo Diesel with 305 horsepower and 610 lb.-ft. of torque
thats gotta be a typo. isnt the current 5.9 325 and 610? why would they have a larger engine have less power? just doesnt make any sense [eyecrazy]

chaos24valve Mar 1, 2006 11:03 PM

you're telling me....maybe they havent mated the new tranny to it so they have to power it down? Lol

BigBlueDodge Mar 1, 2006 11:22 PM

You guys kill me. I can't tell how many times I've read that everyone wishes the Big 3 would stop the HP/TQ wars and concentrate on reliability and gas mileage. Now, when we see an engine (obviously detuned) with slightly less HP/TQ we all cry foul. I wan't to see the B ratings on this new engine, as well as hear some MPG reviews. Also, due to the bigger displacement I'd like to see some EGT numbers as well. I bet it will take some work to get this thing hot when towing.

rockittboy Mar 1, 2006 11:30 PM

pleeeeeeeeeenty of potential! yall sound like yall did years ago when they switched to 24 valves!

chaos24valve Mar 2, 2006 12:26 AM

I never said that I wanted that stuff, I just wanted an awesome engine! and when I heard 750 I about crapped myself so it was a bit of a let down, thats all. I could care less what my mileage is because right now I get about 12 miles to the gallon so anything would prolly be better....

BigBlue Mar 2, 2006 12:36 AM

52 gallon tank!!!!! Geez louise. I'd hate to pay that fuel bill. I want to see a dyno chart of that engine. I'll bet the power curves are nice and flat and maybe it's just slightly underrated. [whistle]

chaos24valve Mar 2, 2006 12:46 AM

Just a little bit under rated right?...Only a tad...Lol. What I am wondering is why they dont have anything out on the Transmission?

rammtuff Mar 2, 2006 05:17 AM

Emissions.

Think thats detuned a commercial industrial equiptment company puts the 6.7l in a off road forklift and the plate on the motor has them rated at WOW HOLD ON TO UR BUTT 190HP!!!!

Now thats detuned!!

MikeyB Mar 2, 2006 07:13 AM

The reason for detuning the engine is for the drivers that run the crap out of it and won't take care of it. They also expect this truck to be exceeding GVW day in and day out. Just a little added margin for reliability.
