Have a cooling system question

Hello all, I have a question. First off my truck is a 2005 ctd and isn't my daily driver. Last winter I had a belt shred on me then 2 weeks later waterpump took a dump. In either case there was no over heating. I really haven't drove the truck a whole lot but sometimes I get fluid to leak out of the back tank and sometimes out of the overflow by the cap. No I noticed driving this weekend that the temperature goes up and down a bit while normal driving but never getting over 200 degrees. Also sometime the coolant tank is at the full mark and sometimes it is down low.

Does this just sound like a thermostat sticking?

Thanks

I would have to say it is just the thermostat sticking because I went through the same thing with my 03.
