A friend called me last night, He said he accidently put 32 gallons of unleaded in his 02 powerstroke....he drained the tank filled up with fuel and all was ok.
Now be honest how many out there have done the same thing...This was the 2nd time he has done it!......

i swear this is a "friend" story. Guy I know had a 97 F 350. At his farm, naturally have gas and diesel. anyways , due to drinking, or just habit, he topped off. wrecked my shop vac, but was able to suck ehough out to replace with diesel , and suprisingly after some rough smokey running, returned to normal. the shop vac however, suffered a worse fate.
He's lucky he didn't kill himself using that shop vac to move gasoline. Gas + sparks from the motor = explosion.
I've been fortunate enough to never to put gasoline in my diesel trucks, and I don't personally know anyone who has. I have, however, inadvertently put diesel in my lawn mower. It didn't like that one bit. The black diesel smoke from that poor little motor's exhaust was pretty cool though!

Not gas in a diesel, but the other way around. Again, this is a friend that did this, I swear. Boating out on Lake of the Ozarks this summer, 3 of us pull up to the fuel dock, 2 buddies in their SeaDoo boats, and me in my skiboat.
One of them put 20gal of #2 in his 40gal GAS tank.
We all figured we would be spending the afternoon pumping/siphoning/disposing???? of 40 gal of 50/50 mix gas/diesel. Didn't have to do a thing. The boat ran just fine w/ a half tank of diesel. Never smoked, fouled a plug, nothing. Ran fine. It is Merc 6cyl, EFI 2 stroke.
We were joking w/ him that we're going to put a Cummins sticker on the back of his boat!

I got one that is kind of similar to the last one....Went to Wally World looking for a lawnmower and they had one out back with a Honda engine that looked brand new....and I mean unused brand new..I asked what was wrong with it and they said it was returned as un-startable (if that is a word)....Me and the lawn and garden guy started looking it over...confirmed with new gas that it wouldn't start....pulled the drain plug on the carb and out ran 30 wt oil! Pushed the primer bulb until pure gas was running out of the drain...then checked the crankcase (luckly it had oil in it as well but we changed that)....started right up and just smoked a little bit. Pretty amazing.
Oh and I ended up buying the mower for a little less than half price

Rental Diesel
I take alot of rentals out to job sites for work. The other day I noticed that there was a CTD for rent. Since I don't foot the tab, I asked for it instead of the Hemi they usually supply. Well due to my works insurance requirements, they would not rent me the diesel truck due to the fact that Enterprize Car Rentals would not fully insure the truck against damage-well long story short, they will not insure them because too many renters fill 'em up with gasoline instead of diesel-then %$@! the pump & need something like 6grand worth of work.
Stupid people, go back to drivin minivans!

I put kerosene in my MF TO-35 one winter. It ran for a little bit, then sputtered and died. Things like that happen when your younger brother uses GAS cans for ANY flammable liquid! Just had to drain the fuel tank, blow out the lines and carb, and it fired right back up.

I haven't put gas in my truck...yet.
This is probably one of those thing where there are only two kinds of us: those that have and those that will.
I had the luxury of driving my truck exclusively, so I rarely drove or refilled anything with gasoline-- hence, no habits to break or conscious thought needed.

No. Can't says as I have ever put gas in a diesel truck or vise-versa. My dad owned his own trucking fleet when I was growing up, so knowing the difference is kinda second nature.
BUT, on my last trip to Glamis last season, I did fill my 2-stroke quad with pure gas......... no oil. I "thought" I mixed it the night before. And unfortunately I figured it out about a mile from camp.

I put about 6 gallons of gas in a 17 gal. tank. It ran poorly and then worse. Finally I realized it was gas by the rate it evaporated off of my hand when I bled some off with the primer bulb. This was in an '83 Nissan Maxima. Drained the gas in a pot hole behind the station (back when gas was 60 cents), filled it up with diesel, let it idle while I drank a cup of coffee and went on.
No damage done. Sold it with 365,000 miles on it, still running fine. Only changed the timing belt a few time and replaced disc brakes. I changed the oil filter one time with the factory screw on. It was $20 and you had to be a contortionist monkey to install it. I installed one of those filters that used the TP roll. Worked excellent!
I think on that engine the gas only cleaned the injectors!!

One of my brother-in-law's customers lent his bobcat to a local business to help clear their lot of snow. They put gas in it instead of diesel. He brought it down to the shop to see if we could fix it or if he should simply buy another engine. The results...bent one rod, blew the rings out of all four pistons including a small hole in one, bent the crank, and the list goes on. He ended up selling it.
Got a friend who filled his truck and his brand new snowmobile up from the same pump. The sled made it about 3 miles before quiting. @##%$ drag the pos back to the trailer, go back to the Arctic Cat dealer. The mechanic works on the thing for about 10 minutes and asked said friend if he filled the Snowmobile with the same fuel he used in the truck? Can we say BONEHEAD?
