Are guys asking too much $$?
I bought my 04 in February and I had the intention of selling my 93' after seeing that I couldn't afford it. I hummed and hawed over selling the ol' girl but I just couldn't do it. Well fast forward to now and I'm making over $4/hr more than I was in Feb and after driving my 1st gen around the block yesterday, I've made the decision to keep it and turn it into a go fast project of my own. Theres a reason why everyone who owned a 1st gen kicks themselves after selling them, these trucks become an attachment to one's self as silly as it sounds, I know it has for me. 12 valves generally mean a lot to the owners of them, and they figure that theyre worth a lot and sometimes its just ridiculous to see beater trucks go for astronomical prices.

It's pretty simple to answer, the 12 valve trucks are the most dependable vehicles you can buy! Get a 98.5-2002 and you KNOW that you will be repalcing the VP and lift pumps, get a CR truck and the nice little electronic gismos will be going.
And consider this, you only need 1 wire with 12 volts on it to run a 12 valve, the speedo, tach, etc might not work, but the truck WILL get you home!!

Sorry, mines not for sale, even at 15K.
The issue here is a hard core 12V LOYAL following. Its the same reason it is so hard to find a TDI Volkswagen.
When they pry it from my cold dead fingers now applies to more than my guns.

I heard that! I can see how they would be hard to let go of. My whole point is if ya sell it, don't be appalled when you get offers well below the asking price. People still want diesels, they just don't wanna pay our the rear for them anymore.
Try shopping a dealer. The pricews aren't really coming down thier like youd expect. They are just not moving like they used to. But someone will eventually come along and get them. The dealers are also really ripping new ones on trade in value. I know a salesman and he said he just recently took a $45,000 truck on trade but only gave about $20,000. The guy wasa foolishly trading it in for a small car but had to roll the diffrence he was out in his truck onto the loan, and then get a large gap insurance policy. A very foolish move. But that's just the way it is right now.
You'll also see alot of those higher priced truck not selling. Every now and then you'll see one on ebay that say "over $50,000 in mods to this truck". Those will never sell for what they are listed as.
I got a Jeep Comanche truck for $100 and sold if for $2500 about two years later. I guess it was a right place right time on the purchase and the sale.

Now that is a more reasonable price in this point in time mahdey, good deal.
That's always been true, but never more true than it is now. I wouldn't mind seeing mega's come down below 20k.

Just to give you an idea here is the listing for my truck. not many people got to see it because it SOLD WITHIN 12 HRS of being listed. I have a feeling I should have made the buy it now $15,500.00 . boy I really miss it and it's only been a few dayshttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=250257194271
I can see why yours sold so quick and for the price. It looks to be near pristine condition, and with what I consider to be pretty darn low miles for a near 12 year old truck. Do the math and it's seen less than 10k miles a year. And even the engine bay looks better than many trucks that aren't even a year or two old. It's the ones that have dirty worn lookng bodies, engine bays, underbodies, etc that I am talking about and still asking well over 10k. But wow did you ever take care of that thing. I know I couldn't have let it go unless someone was putting a gun to my head.

Wow...That is a very nice looking truck...
In my opinion, I think the truck is "immaculate". I would love to post some pictures, but since I'm a little computer "challenged", I'm unable to do that at this time... If I ever think of selling the truck, I better figure it out !!!
