A guy was trying to buy my truck...

A guy who's a distant acquaintance asked me when I was gonna sell my truck. I said never. He was driving a 2005 2500HD Chevy with a 6.0 gasser V8 (showroom condition with 85k miles), and said "I'll trade you, for my truck plus cash", and asked how much cash I wanted to make the deal worth while. I didn't think for a minute and said no way. He pleaded with me by telling me that he liked diesels better. I smiled and said "Me too."

Sweet...

One day at a dyno after I got done running, this rich kid that was driving a 40k ford with 20k in upgrades asked me how much I wanted for my truck, he had to have it. Unlike you, I didn't miss a beat and said 30k cash... he was all in until daddy saw my truck running down the track... never heard from him again.

Funny...I was at the local Ford dealership looking at a used Suburban and the salesman asked me how much I wanted for my Cummnings. I said I didn't come in to sell a Cummings, what's a Cummings? He then proceeded to tell me all about the Cummings diesel I apparently didn't know I had in my truck and that he could probaly get me around 10 grand for it. I walked over and asked him how much he knew about Dodge trucks and Cummings and he said he sold them for two years prior. I asked why he switched to Ford and he told me they build a better diesel engine than Cummings.

I walked over and looked at my truck and said this isn't what you think it is.

Mine apparently has a Cummins. It must be a different engine entirely. I will sell it to you for 25 grand and can give you some time to come up with the money if you need it.

I asked him if he shouldn't get back to the shop where they keep all the other tools, and left.

Just picked up an 05 Dodge diesel mega cab an hour ago. If anyone wants it they will have to offer at least double what I paid for it.

On the other hand, I really did not need 2, and she went to what I think will be a good home.

haha that's funny.

I got the guys from the dealership calling asking if I'd sell my truck. Uhhh no, then I laughed and asked if he was joking. Next time they ask me, I"m going to drop out a good round number.
