going to UNO as diesel tech... kinda interesting yet scary

well, as some of you know i'm going to the University of Northwestern Ohio as a diesel tech (and beyond) and finally got thru the first week. after talking to a few of the teachers i have to say that the diesel world is going to be turned upside down due to the EPA. the large trucks are going to the EGR system which is hard as no other on the motors and the small trucks are gonna be doing the same. by 07, you will not see any smoke out of a diesel.... black or white. they are also going to make it nearly impossible to bomb them since any work to them will throw 20 different codes (from the EGR system)

any insight on this?

BTW- if any of you are looking to go to school or have a son or daughter (we have 3 in our class of 20 i'm in right now) wanting to get into a good diesel or highperformance school, i STRONGLY encourage you to look at UNO. i was on my way to LTI untill my father talked to a few shops and a cummins rep who told him about this school. after seeing what goes on at LTI, i've started calling them a puppy mill and am glad i was shown this school. the teachers know diesels in and out. the teacher i have right now was a tech for 15+ years, then became a shop forman, and is now a teacher for UNO.

just trying to give a few heads up for all the diesel folks out there
