GMC 6.0L burned me bad
Re:GMC 6.0L burned me bad
you guys need some more fuel, i eat up 6.0 chevys like they ain't nothing. heck they are slower than the new hemi's and i walk from them. and i drive a 4x4 dually.
Re:GMC 6.0L burned me bad
My buddy has an 04 6.0 Chevy in a regular cab, long bed, 2 wheel drive truck. He gets about 15 to the gallon empty on the highway. He has dual exhaust with bullet mufflers (basically straight pipe). Off the line we are even, but by the top end of first, he pulls on me pretty good. From a roll we are pretty even. And all I've got is a Comp in EZ mode.
Re:GMC 6.0L burned me bad
My wifes truck was a Chevy 6.0 it got up and whent but 12mpg empty!! We just traded for a Tahoe to get the kids in and out, with the 5.3 nice ride but I almost had her talked into a 04 quad cummins ;D ;D,but she wanted more room and I don't blame her. Still the 04 cummins would have been sweet.

You also have to remember that your CTD probably weighs about 1000 pounds more than that GM does. The new Gms are very lightweight for something that size.
On paper, you should see a hemi destroying a GM 6000 all day.
Unfortunately, at the strip, the Hemi guys get a serving of humble pie.
Even a Dodge 1500 weighs quite a bit more than a comparable GM. So you need quite a bit more power just to break even.

Redneck headbanger: like heck the CTD wasn't made for drag racing...hmm let's see a crew cab ford F-350 with a huge lift and tires doing low 11's ? try putting that motor in a rail.. ;D just a few bolt on's and bam your moving...diesels rule 8)
