GM Ups Price of Diesel Trucks
GM Ups Price of Diesel Trucks
This article only mentions the 4500 and up trucks, but since it's the same engine as their <4500's, I wonder how much the increase will affect them.
"Prices are going up on the diesel-powered trucks built at General Motors' Flint Truck Assembly Plant because of new federal regulations requiring cleaner exhaust emissions."
"The price increases for 2007 model year trucks range from $2,950 to $7,600, depending on the model."
Holy Smoke!!! Pardon the pun.
The 06's should fly off the lot once potential 07 owners see this.

I sell moving trucks. Freightliner, GMC, and mostly Internationals. Due to the strict emissions standards the prices on those will be going up $5-$7000 for the new model year. We are really pushing people to buy their trucks now because of this but it's not working that well. They will all be hating life next year when they have to pay that extra $$$...

And, they will really be loving it even more when they find out that that $5-7k more expensive rig will also cost considerably more to maintain, recieve a bit worse fuel mileage, and be worth less at trade-in since everyone else will have realized the same things by then. Fortunetly, the California Air Resources Board, the Sierra Club, and the EPA will all be smiling - on thier way to the bank.

I thought a good rebuilt auto (like the $5K 49RE in my '98) was much more than a G56 clutch...

My response was based on the NV's reputation and the many opinions I read about the dual mass flywheel. I was getting ready to order my new Cummins when the switch happened. I was unable to find a G56 to test drive before I ordered one, but was able to find an NV in CT.
