My buddy went to a diesel event. Said it was a bunch of 40 year old kids all trying to out do each other with smoke and noise with their toys.

Thanks for telling me about smoking out the cyclist. It will be another 5 years before I attend an event.

I run my MAP unplugged for the extra low end power, if i could only get that power without having to unplugg.
It is also great for gettin rid of tailgaters, otherwise i try not to smoke people out.

I'm all for respecting others on the road but if you are going to have an absolute blatant disregard of the law then expect others to have an absolute blatant disregard for you. Not to mention every bicyclist I've run across doesn't move to the right to let you pass and they throw all of their trash along the road. Littering if I'm correct is a BIG fine in Texas and how come I have to pay the fine but they don't? I'm sorry but the only bicyclist I respect is the one that moves over and let's traffic pass, doesn't litter, and actually obey's the freaking red signs that say STOP.

They just passed a new law in Ok that if you can't keep up with the normal flow of traffic that you stay next to the curb, no more rideing in the middle of the road. Also if they want the road have them pay 1500 for a tag and tax. Other wise ride in parks.....not even gonna get into a rant about.....

The only cyclists that get smoked are the ones who ride double-wide and slow down all the traffic. It also happened to the poor biker who gave me the finger. He should have picked a different person to display his distaste for fellow motorists.

I think I smoked a punk on a crotch rocket tonight....not too sure as he completely dissappeared...... so ok, you are riding like a complete jerk cutting people off and splitting traffic.....you come upon a dodge with a black stained rear qtr panel.... you should weasel your way around him on the passangers side at the light so he can let you have it, he did....I did. I am pretty sure I drilled him with enough soot to clog his filter. now the ironic thing, at the next light the cars behind him that he cut off gave ME the thumbs up. I know its not right to take it into my own hands but it needed to be done.

I own a bicycle, a Yamaha XJR1300SP,a car,Dodge CTD and drive a heavy for a living.Just because another road user winds you up the wrong way, theres no way I would come down to their level by smoking them.In the UK we have fairly strict emmission laws and smoking like some of the trucks on these forums, you would soon have a glove box full of tickets.
The way fuel prices are going here,we will be all riding bicycles soon.

If we all had to ride bicycles, I believe Road-Rage would cease.
There's something about being enclosed in a steel box that makes people feel untouchable and all-powerful, and lets them react in ways they'd NEVER do if face to face.
When is the last time you saw someone cut in line at the checkout in a store then flip-off the person behind them when they protested?

The anti cyclist comments are not cool. They have the right to be on the road too. I just lost a lot of respect for some of you. I agree they shouldnt take up the whole road but come on!

So yesterday I'm riding through our downtown main street and I stand on it to here it bounce of the building (ridiculously sweet sounding). I forgot I didn'thave the stack hooked up so all the smoke goes straight back (oops). I look in the mirror and se this young black guy in a white car drive through the giant soot cloud. I thought to myself "Crap, i didn't mean that to happen." He ended up following me all the way to my house (might have been going the same dirrection though) and stop behind the truck and yells out, "That truck sounds really good." he was even smiling I told him thanks and he went on his way.

Too bad most people don't think this way...

I agree with what Blue said. On campus here we hate bike riders because they ride on the sidewalk and run over everybody walking. They think they have the right of way no matter what. I'd hate them less if they did obey the laws and stop when they are supposed to. I've come close to hitting a few because I'm expecting them to stop (notice I said almost, I pay attention sometimes ). They should never ride double wide and take up a whole lane and make cars swerve into the opposite lane to avoid killing them, and they don't even notice. The worst is the foreign exchange students with bikes that ride like they are in their country. They expect you to stop on a 50mph road and wear all black at night with no reflectors on them or their bike.

OK I'm done. If they let us drive on campus bike riders would get smoked out all the time.

Yeah road rage would end...everyone would be too darned TIRED to get angry . My take on soot is, there`s a time and a place for everything. I like...no lemme correct that I LOVE to blast my friends when the time and place are appropriate, and they know it`s coming so it`s all good, but someone would have to get me pretty PO`ed to soot em out on a busy intersection. FWIW the wife and I were going out about a week or so ago, we took two cars due to scheduling snafu`s. WELL we just happened to line up at a stop light (road was empty). Lets just say the tally was 93 Cummins 1, 05 Chivvy Equinox ZERO. I actually thought she was gonna be ticked due to the cloud that enveloped her car but she got a HUGE laugh out of it

Thumbs up

I've got to weigh in on this!

Shovelhead & crew are absolutely correct - legally, bicycles are treated as non-licenced or -permitted road vehicles, and are expected to obey the traffic rules & regulations accordingly. No good purpose is served by trying to alienate them just because you don't like their choice of transportation/hobby.

Having said that, BigBlue & crew DO have a bone to pick with SOME of the cyclists out there who act like, well, some of my truck buddies in here...
On a rare occasion, I want to splash or smoke some two-wheeling edit-hole, about as often as I want to thump or key some 4(or 6)-wheeling edit-bag... but I don't do either, because it's the right thing NOT to do.

Everybody looking for trouble - why bother? It'll find YOU easily enough.

I say all this as a former bicycle racer, current bicycle rider, lifetime gearhead and lover of raw gasoline ('65 GTO) & burnt diesel ('05 CTD).
Please don't threaten, abuse or hassle me while I'M on the road, regardless of how many wheels are under my seat - or we'll be working this out the hard way.
