Ford Rules...Nuff said...
Re:Ford Rules...Nuff said...
I've got a question. How does one get a Dodge for $5 grand less then a Ford when equiped the same? When I was shopping for a diesel, I could pick up a Superduty for about a Grand less then a Dodge HD. Every Ford dealer I called gave me a starting price below invoice except one and the rebate was richer. I still went Dodge because of the problems with the 6L PSD.

Same experience I found last Jan when I was truck shopping. The Ford was cheaper than the Dodge. The 6.0 problems worried me but also I could not get a 6spd for a while either. They were only building the automatics. About 2 grand difference for mine.

I was set to buy a Ford with the X-plan and had the list of everything I wanted with all the costs there. The 6.0 wasn't released yet either.
I sent that list to a few Dodge dealers and told them that if they can match it (keeping in mind that there are OEM differences), call me. I included that I don't care for any full-court press tactics; pass me around different sales managers tactics, etc.... This is what I want, otherwise I'll go to Ford. I think I added that I don't really care for new car salesmen as a species too - just to cut down on the reply's from "players".
One fella responded and said he'd work with me. I ended up buying a truck from him. I'm surprised to admit it, but it was a fun and pleasant experience. As I recall, the Dodge that I intended to order was less than the Ford; but the truck I bought was already there and optioned out a little more than I had intended. We did the same % work on its option list and I bought it.
I'll admit that I was going to order a slushbox truck (SO/47Re cuz thats what was available back then), but after driving the HO stickshift - it was love at first sight! I'da paid more for it just so no one would ****** it from under me if I waffled around on it!
And for you guys sitting on the fence, and test driving all those auto's that they've got in the lot (Ford & Dodge) - take a stick shift version for a spin before you buy; you may be surprised on what you purchase.

That 5 grand over an equivelent Dodge is why I got the Dodge. I've always loved Mopars anyway, I really liked the Ferds but here in MT they were consistently 4-5,000 over the Ram. I definately have no regrets... ;D-Steve

thanks again for everyones replies. Someone on this forum posted the cummins site and it answered a bunch of other questions I had:
http://www.cummins.com/na/pages/en/p...urbodiesel.cfm
Like the 7,500 mile oil service for severe duty vs. the Ford 6.0L that is rated at 5,000 miles for severe duty. Also, as someone mentioned above the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty vs. the Fords 5 year 100,000 mile warrant.
