Ford F250 7.3 oil pressure light

A Co-worker of mine has a 2001 Ford F250 with the 7.3 in it. It has a Banks kit on it and is otherwise stock. The question is whenever the truck gets put under a decent load the oil pressure gauge drops to 0 and the Oil Pressure light comes on. But the truck is full of oil and has no leaks anywhere. We are going to pull the Banks stuff off and start there but does anyone else have some other suggestions? Yes I know its a Powerjoke and not a real diesel... But it is the 7.3 and thats a decent engine, we are really trying to figure this out. So if anyone has some other tips please share them with me. I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Additionally the Banks kit is nothing huge. Its just got a transmission enhancer, exhaust and a Big Head valve on the turbo. The truck does not skip a beat when the light comes on and the pressure gauge reads zero but we dont stay on it long to find out either...

Start simple: Oil pressure sending unit. Don't pull anyting off till you check (or just replace) the sending unit.

Mine went bad on old '96. However I had the opposite - low indicated oil pressure at idle when hot.

If it's not this, and oil pressure is dropping off under load, hate to say it, but he's got something else wrong there. Take off the intake & exhaust to the turbo, check the bearings. start simple, then dig deeper. Any oil use at this point?

For starters the oil lube pump feeds the hpop which operates the injectors. If he were having an oil pump problem that was actually dropping oil pressure to zero or near zero the engine would be stalling out. Put a manual gauge on it and drive it the same way so you can verify the problem. Lube pumps are known to fail on the 7.3, not real common but not unheard of.
