Ford F-550 SRW

So, I just saw an '03 or '04 Ford F-550 6.0L SRW lifted about 8" w/ some huge mud tires today. Either the guy is nuts for buying a 550 and converting it into a mud-bogger or it's just a 550 badge...I don't know...it was interesting though. The Ford 6.0 is still a loud engine...not much quieter than the 7.3 when you compare the drastic change CTD's went through.

Maybe you can get a converstion kit for a 350 and it'll work for a 550.

On the Rickson truck parts page there was a 450 or 550 someone converted to SRW, with single 19.5" wheels. Did you see the axles to see if it was a 550? I have a friend with one and he repainted it and stuck 550 badges on it.

Actually, I couldn't tell ya if I was looking at a 550 axle if I saw it anyway. But anyway, now that I think about it he would have had to change the rear fender panels to SRW also, and I think a person would be foolish to spend all that money on a 550 just to convert it to a SRW.

Beg your pardon on this one. I have a 6.0 and my son has a 7.3. You can't even hear mine run next to his. But the Dodge is a quiet one. Almost would think it was a gasser. I like the Dodge but it bothers me to hear people bad mouth the 6.0. I love mine and it *Really moves*. I didn't buy a Dodge cause of the front end.
