Finaly "King Ranch" of Dodge

http://www.dodge.com/en/2011/longhorn/

Anyone seen this yet? Longhorn Laramie Edition for next year. Western styling in the interior, loads of leather, wood grain, stitching. Looks like they made the seats out of my cowboy boots, belt buckle on the seatbacks, awesome truck....and prolly 60 grand

Very pretty truck.

But makes about as much sense as the Lincoln Pick up that Ford came out with.

I'd be afraid to get into it without going through a decon trailer first.

I'd be much happier with one that the dash doesn't fall apart after 10 years, the ball joints and tie rods are greasable, and I don't have to buy fuel pumps by the case.

Very nice but I bet the diesel version will be closer to $70k

They need to improve quality in other areas besides looks. They are just copying ford but but as far as fit and finish and interior quality they cant come close.

They hopefully will show it in different exterior colors also, I really like it otherwise .

They've had the Resistol version of the CTD out since 08 I believe. Same thing. Full load dually with all the color coded seats and dash etc.

Ekkk, not digging the embroidery on the seats. I hated that they put the gear selector where they did. Take all that money they spent on a new design and build us a bullet proof drive-train.

C'mon Fiat, we've suffered long enough. Slide us a little slack. [tapdshut]

I noticed that the wheels have changed...the duals might be real, not a plastic el cheapo cover. I wonder if it only comes in the old man browns?

OMG....so true!

I agree. Wish they would spend more time and effort into creating better quality components than adding more dolled up stuff.

To those that want stuff that last longer, the cost of that vs the cost of stuff that looks fancy is alot. Its easy to make cheap nice looking stuff that lasts a year or two, and that is what companies ask there engineers to do(marketing runs engineering hands down). They would rather have a few complaints from guys that keep there trucks 10+ years and at the same time get tons of people that trade off their trucks cause it appears worn out after 2-3 year. JMO as some one that has worked as an engineer alittle.

The dash of my 1986 Dodge Aries looks like it's only a couple of years old.
The dash of my 1999 Dodge Ram looks like it's 300 years old.

I am honestly suprised at how many King Ranch Fords are around here. I never realized we had that many people who could afford a 60K pickup!
If I wanted that level of trim I'd drive a caddy!

Marty86 11-18-2010 10:56 AM

Seriously who wants to pay $70-80k for a truck with a PRETTY interior? If I'm spending $70-80k on a vehicle, it'd make more sense to get a Benz. It has a diesel, better mileage and ride. It makes more sense too, because if I'm paying that for a truck, obviously I'm not using it as a truck.

soulezoo 11-18-2010 11:03 AM

I'm going against this trend here.

I LOVE IT! yes I agree on wanting better quality, longer lasting stuff too-- but i love the creature comforts and bells and whistles. If you want a base work truck with rollup windows, you can still get that. And for the record, I had a caddy escalade ext... it didn't tow my trailer all that well.
