Exhaust/Tailpipe ?

Is the exhaust on my truck T304 steel or something? I have a Silverline tip on my truck and it does not match tailpipe section very well. Can you polish out the tailpipe section with a high speed buffer? If so, what kind of polish should i use and what pad to put on buffer?

The stock exhaust is aluminized steel. I used aluminum polish on the tailpipe to keep it shiney.

I've use fine stainless steel wool with some metal polish to get the big stuff off and then used the Mother buff ball to polish it up really nice. It actually lasts a long time too. If you want to go nuts get a buffing wheel and some tripoli and you'll get close to a mirror finish.

What is tripoli and where do you find it? So a buffing wheel and tripoli will will give the pipe a mirror finish like the tip?
