Duramax convert
 

Last week I read an article about a guy who had the engine blow in his Duramax . GM said the warranty was voided because of aftermarket Banks equipment . Guy gets a lawyer after paying over $20,000 for engine replacement . GM says " O.K. , we'll give you 10 grand . " "Nope , see you in court ." Guy has an engineer check the engine out . Says failure of engine was due to a valve stem made from defective material . GM pays court costs , attorney fees , parts and labor , and buys the truck back - grand total over $68,000. Guy is now proud owner of a CTD .

I rerad several magazines while on the road last week . I must have left that magazine in my truck . I'll try to locate it this week . May have been "Car and Driver " .

I remember reading that story in Truck Trend a month or two ago.
