Does Cummins still make 12v's?

Just wondering if they do for like construction equipment. Sure do wish Dodge would go back to it. Sure is a simple and efficent engine design with no computers. I'm afraid my motor will out last my truck. I dont want to buy one of these sohisticated trucks. Way too compicated for me.

They still make the 12 valve but not for sale in the US. It will not meet EPA requirements even for farm and construction equipment next year.

They also make one with a VP44 injection pump, to give the operates max efficiency, without the extra "cost" of the 24v design.

Wonder I they would meet EPA regs?

I sort of doubt it would meet regs because the electronic variable timing is an important part of keeping emissions down.

Wouldn't the VP44 allow for this variable timing, that how they did it on the ISB's (24v)?

VP44=variable timing.

You're afraid?
I would absolutely guarantee it. The 12 valves are bulletproof.

Again as was stated before, it's all about Emissions! That's the reason, more than any other, for the electronics these engines now posses. I understand California now is talking about tightening emissions regulations even more than the '07 standards. The '07 alone may spell death to diesel in CA.

We need to make our feelings heard about this.
