We refine it here and always get kicked in the teeth first.
The refinery is 14 miles from my local station and the refinery gets their crude straight out of the Trans AK pipeline.

Southern ILL $3.40 or so, it goes up and down 5-10 cents every day.

Glad the wifes TDI jetta 5spd gets 49mpg, we were carpooling to work but she decided to work 4-10's and take off thursday, that cost us cause my 93 don't get but 17-18mpg.

Caught a break today while I was in Pell City. I found diesel at the Murphy station for $3.13. The Exxon right in front of it wanted $3.39.

I wonder what would happen if we staged it nation wide to not buy fuel for one week. Just completely boycot fuel for a week and watch the aftermath. What do you think would happen?

Absolutely nothing.

This has been tried / suggested before & it never comes to fruition. When people need fuel they buy it & they do not worry about how this effects anyone else.

It's not going to work. Whatever we don't use the Chinese and Indians will buy it.

Simply nothing. Possibly a few will sell or donate the diesel truck and but gassers. Helps the economy 2 ways, pumps money into the economy and helps the alcohol farmers.

Otherwise there would be fewer diesel so less demand for fuel (maybe) therfore higher diesel price yet.

Just keep buying the stuff. We can always go back to hunting and fishing for food.

They have us. It is a supply and demand world, and we simply can't hold out long enough to make an impact. Boycotting a giant, like Exxon, wouldn't be so bad- you don't have to do without, and you can boycott for a prolonged time. But, I doubt that it will make a difference. Now, if the trucking industry boycotted...
Locally here, I buy my diesel at a little mom and pop country store, because they carry 48 cetane diesel and ethanol free gas. Usually their prices are higher, but lately, it is higher in town- $3.42, to their $3.39. They don't sell as much, so they simply haven't refilled their tank. It will shoot up when they do. We simply slow down, and conserve trips when the prices start jacking. About all you can do. Fortunately, we have a TDI Jetta, also, and it takes some of the sting out.

$3.35/gal in San Marcos, Texas today.

Here's a link I find useful when planning trips.

3.19 here. 3.79 for B20
I'd rather pay the extra if any of it goes to local soybean farmers.

One big thing that keeps the price up is that we export over 25 million gallons of diesel per day to the EU an other countries and in turn import millions of gallons of gas they can't use.
