debugging power loss

I suffered a significant loss of power when I had my torque convertor replaced and tranny rebuilt recently.

This truck is a '68 Ford with a 2005 5.9l in it with a 48 RE and an older manual transfer case.

With help of some of the guys over on the conversion forum I am pretty sure what I am experiencing is rev limiting. Engine starts and runs fine, but I can't go over 2,500 rpm. I have posted this on the 3rd generation forum with no response so I am trying here.

It was suggested that this could be caused by a lack of a speed input to the ECM. Is there anything else that can cause this? This truck is equiped with a speed sensor in the tail housing of the transfer case. I pulled it and took a look and it seems functional.

Any help would be appreciated.

Peter
