Dealer help
I have a friend that needs some help with his dealer. His truck is not a diesel, but it is a Dodge. He has a 05 Dodge ram 4x4 rumble bee hemi that has about 40,000KMS on it. It just had a alinement done about 200KMS a go. The truck looks like new still and he takes good care of it. Now the other night he was driving home and the passenger side wheel, spindle A arms and CV shaft came/broke off the truck at about 40MPH. He pulled over and thought he had a flat tire. When he looked down the road and saw his tire and suspention bits in the road he was a little suprized. So the truck got towed to the dealer so they could fix it. The have said that there was previos damage and that they will not cover it under warrenty. How should/can he fight this?
2 things.........1st - why did the alignment shop not notice the "previous damage" ? and 2nd - was the dealer the one who did the alignment? Hard to tell if parts were previously damaged when they are in a pile picked up off the road. But....just as hard to prove they weren't. I have a hard time understanding how the entire spindle, wheel, cv shaft, ect. can fall off a truck with no warning? If he is as much of a truck enthusiast as you make him out to be, he would have heard or felt something to give some sort of advance warning that something was wrong. Those are big parts to just "fall off". Just my .02
