Daimler to sell Chrysler
Daimler to sell Chrysler
Business section of the Houston Chronicle. Google the financial status of DaimlerChrysler and you'll find a lot of information on many of their internal problems such as this one.
On Edit: I may have misread your question. If you're looking for one of these 2006 trucks, I would imagine that a dealer could inquire to DC regarding unallocated 2006 inventory and find out what's available.

i remember seeing parking lots littered with Jeep Commanders, Cherokees and Ram 1500s so yeah, they have quite a bit of inventory right now. Keep in mind Dodge has the oldest design on the market right now since Toyota has rolled out the new Tundra and GM the new Silverado/Sierra.
There are very few new 06's left in sales banks if any at all. The glut of 06's that is being refered to are in dealer inventory all ready. I am in good shape as I sold my last 06' in December. But there are some poor saps who still have piles of them. What is in the sales bank is 07's, and the sales bank was drastically reduced recently due to halting production of several models for 3 weeks per month out of the last two or three months.
Well, I'm glad to hear that they've cleared them all out. HERE is a November 2nd article that said DC still had 50,000 vehicles in the sales bank at that time.

"Initial expectations of a global automotive powerhouse have given way to frustration over Chrysler's exposure to sport-utility vehicles, pick-up trucks and minivans at a time when US consumers have been moving to cars and crossover vehicles."
they should've built the ESX...

1.5L Diesel hybrid Intrepid-style car... got 72mpg, and passed gov't crash tests..
I'd think they couldn't have kept them in stock when gas was $3/gal..
but who knows what it would've been like by the time it made it to production...
